It’s #maternalmentalhealth month. I struggled with my first daughter. Bad. I struggled alone. I struggled in silence. I felt shame, I felt guilt and I had nowhere to run. My second experience has been completely different. I’ve surrounded myself with community and support and talk therapy and nutrition and self care and you know what... I’m a better mother for it. The way we support and treat mothers, especially in the USA, is almost criminal. We don’t care about them, we don’t support them and we leave them to birth and raise our next generation of heros alone. Something has to change. Without a women, without a mother, the world does not continue to turn. We need to regard it as the most important role in the world. ❤️
