She covers some fascinating material on ‘fixed’ vs. ‘growth’ mindsets and how they affect our behavior. . In essence, a fixed mindset prioritizes innate ability/talent and ultimately holds us back, while a growth mindset focuses on hard work and propels us forward in the long run. It’s eye-opening to learn about these perspectives and consider the ‘fixed’ parts of my own life. . I started out with a lot of talent in climbing and was labeled a ‘natural’, but ended up struggling with ego and fear of trying hard because having to work for something meant I wasn’t talented. I didn’t have that exact inner dialogue as a young person, but I can see how it held me back and how it still influences me today. I’ve definitely learned a lot since the early days but there’s always more work to be done 😉 . Obviously my description of these concepts are in their most basic form; I strongly recommend checking out “Mindset” for a full understanding. It’s particularly helpful for coaches, parents, and teachers 🤓🤓 . @james_lucas 📸 from a growth-minded spring day in my favorite place ever 🌸🌸 #Buttermilks」5月2日 2時19分 - sheneenagins
