Sounds silly but it’s less about the picnics and more about making time to go out in the middle of no wear and watch the clouds, feel the wind in my hair, graze on snacks and watch Willow grow wild with exploration! Being a single mom and starting my own business, I worked so hard to make sure willow and I would be ok. I’m a full time model and there was no guarantee I’d have a career after I had her. I had just put so much of my time, money and resources to start @kentucky_darling_market_ (which it’s going great i’m sorry I forget to fill you all in on that part of my life sometimes) So it also meant I had to work a lot and through a lot of holidays and milestones. I even worked on Christmas last year! But this year she’s 2 and she’s growing so fast and I have to remind my self that if I work this hard for her is it really worth it to not slow down and have fun with her too. I found I could do both when I started to leave behind toxic people. I found there was more room for both my business and child when I just stop letting people take advantage of my kindness to benefit themselves or people that left me feeling bad even at the time I didn’t understand why, was the best boss mom decision I’ve ever made. I start to handle situations like I’d want willow to do when she’s older. Speak up, stand up for her self and for people that need it and don’t seek out approval from those that don’t care about you.
