The lack of gender diversity and cultural diversity in STEM fields is slowly changing and I’m so grateful to be a part of a series meant to inspire young girls to take on leadership roles in these fields. Women are just as creative, innovative, passionate and intelligent as men, but for many reasons have been made to believe that becoming a scientist, an engineer, or any job related to tech and math is a better fit for a man. It is our responsibility through art, mentoring, and school programs to change the conversation surrounding these jobs, teaching girls that they are just as qualified, powerful and capable. I can’t think of a single career that didn’t benefit from having women involved, STEM included! I’m so excited for you to see what we created and honored to be a part of this series with my incredible fellow directors Julie Bowen, Ana Brenda Contreras Lisa Edelstein and Rosario Dawson.
