Don’t allow me to be driven by the “clap back”. I understand that the clap back is often me making a decision to protect myself from never allowing anyone else to walk over me. However, help me to eliminate this mentality by giving me insight on who I should only be “ready” for; because that doesn’t include everyone and this has often been a defense mechanism with the wrong people. So, Help me to be alert but to only respond to what you would have me to. Continue to build peace within my soul and certainty of who I am in YOU so that I never step outside of my character to correct anything that isn’t worth my time. Mature me to not react but to grasp the reasonableness of the circumstance or person, that I’d deal with, and if there is none help me to understand that that’s even more reason to let it go. Give me the strength to walk away having no agitation or after attack, mentally. Your Holy Spirit allows us discernment. Grant me that Insight so that I may see who I’m dealing with beyond the flesh. Let this day be joyful and filled with your spirit and direction. Amen!
