We came to a fork on the trail where there was a trickle of a stream. The trail continued to the left but Bear was curious about bearing right into the forest to follow the small stream. It looked like no one had ever gone that way, it was not a path at all! I suggested we might not want to and it might be best to stay on the trail. He replied, "Come on mommy! Trust me." So I followed him a bit reluctantly. We were ducking under branches and slipping into tight spots. It was a little dodgy! If Bear hadn't asked to do it, I would have never adventured this way. As we trekked the funky terrain, Bear kept saying "I have good instincts, trust me!" So I did - he's right, he's always proven to make conscious level-headed choices. It was really fun for me to be led by him and it was so empowering for him to lead and be trusted.
