You made it. For as hard as it is to say this after 17+ years of the sport that has been my life, it’s time to hang it up. Thank you gymnastics for all the memories. My journey wasn’t easy, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I can’t thank everyone enough for your constant love you have given me throughout my career. To be honest, I could have/ should have been done a long time ago... but that fire inside of me was not done burning. I continued to keep fighting because this sport brought me immense joy. One thing I can tell you I learned, you’re stronger than any adversity life throws at you. My body might be thanking me, but my hearts torn to pieces. If you know me, I love this sport and I love everything it’s taught me. It sure in the heck challenged me and It may have broke me a few times, but the good thing about broken pieces...you are able to build them up stronger than ever. Yesterday was so special. Before doing my last routine ever, I took a moment to look into the stands, look at my teammates, look at my coaches and look at my tattoo for a reminder that Gracie was there. I will never forget how that made me feel. That will be a feeling I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you to my teammates, coaches and this amazing university for giving me this incredible opportunity to compete for you. LSU is more than a university, it’s a family. Wow.
