Yesterday was hard to watch
Speechless, helpless
Almost 9 centuries of history engulfed in wild flames.
So many people shared memories of time spent at Notre Dame Cathedral - a structure that meant different things to different people.
For some it was solace
For some it was spiritual
For some it was a spark - their first taste of travel.
Is there an avalanche of crises, disasters and tragedies happening in other parts of the world too? Yes, but some days being crippled by one is all you can bare.
Some days a memory or moment in time comes flooding back, and the loss feels so personal and universal at the same time.
There is a time for everything. And for a horrifying few hours yesterday it was hard to think of anything else.
May your memories and photos of those moments bring you joy. Notre Dame is still standing, thank goodness.
But even if she wasn’t, we still are. May this terrible event remind us all to stand for each other in times of need whenever we can ♥️. Have you visited Notre Dame?

Our daughter visited a couple of weeks ago, we were due to go in September, she is devastated but grateful to have seen in its glory, it will be restored in time with many of the saved artifacts finding their place once again in our history, sadly the tress are lost but this must be seen as a new chapter for the next generation to witness, we must always have hope???❤️?

Living in France, I went to Paris many times but never visited Notre Dame. I truly wish I could have visited it though... It really was impressive architecture and even though it will never be the same as it was, I hope that its reconstruction will be as close to the old architecture as possible!❤

I was so sad to see Notre Dame in flames?
Our French teacher cried in front of the class.. and everyone was crying with her.
I think it wasn’t because of Notre Dame but she was so sad and we all gave her a hug?
Btw. Nice pic?

I was twice in Paris last year. We visited Notre Dame on our first trip, and it was stunning. So much Details it had, it was horrible to see the flames and knowing the church will never be the same like before

Yes..1985...still clear as can be in my minds eye. I have some great pictures. One with me and a gargoyle next to me, both of us sticking out our tongues. Such a beautiful place. ♥️

Living in Paris, I am sad for all those who will never see the initial Cathedral. Many people living here have never visited because they say they are in no hurry and now ... ?
