I had multiple people who know me well send me screen grabs of this moment....just finishing our first song on SNL. (This one is Jane’s....hi Jane!) To be fair, I warned the band that I was NOT going to play it cool. 🤸🏻‍♀️
This weekend has been a blur of excitement and nerves and most of all an overwhelming amount of gratitude. I was simply put...flooded with love. ❤️ Love coming from my nearest and dearest is always a treasured thing, but some folks I haven’t heard from in a long time took the time to reach out and tell me they were proud of me. That has landed on me in a particularly beautiful way. Thank you for all of it. Thank you team. Thank you powerhouse badass beautiful band. Thank you friends and family and fans and watchers all over. Thank you for paying attention to this moment that came and went but meant so much and thank you for being along for the ride for the next wonderful moment that might even be a much smaller moment and a much quieter one...but whatever it is, I appreciate the noticing. Thank you for reminding me to notice others that same way.
Fists in the air with kid-like joy is a pose none of us should ever retire. Imma be watching for it. You should too. Here’s to reaching up and grabbing more joy. 🥳
