AMC has announced that a third series based on Robert Kirkman’s #TheWalkingDead comics is in the works.

The series will reportedly center on two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation which has come-of-age during the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes, others villains and all will be changed forever.

The series follows on from both the original mothership show “The Walking Dead” and the first spin-off “Fear the Walking Dead,” though it’s presently unclear how the new show will connect with them if at all.

Scott M. Gimple and Matt Negrete co-created the new series with Negrete to serve as showrunner. David Madden, President of Programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios, says in the press release: “We’re thrilled that the Dead will keep walking into a new corner of the post-apocalyptic world, a corner that will present stories and characters unlike any that The Walking Dead has dramatized thus far, and that is bound to excite one of the most passionate fanbases in television.” The first season will consist of ten episodes and will begin filming this Summer in Virginia ahead of a 2020 premiere on AMC.

ina_inaa14 The series is very good I like it a lot .. This super fantastic .. But I like more the couple of rick and michonne and they are the best couple they love each other a lot and they have good chemistry ... Rick has to go back so that michonne no longer feel so sad and know that michonne gave birth to a beautiful child .... If rick does not return the series will be very boring and poorly made and it would not make sense that michonne will be left with another character .... And all his friends need Rick is especially lacking in his wife and children. @thewalkingdeadamc
