For its eighth sojourn to Milan Design Week, fashion house @コス has commissioned the young French architect @mamoumani to create a 3D printed installation that winds through the 16th century Palazzo Isimbardi. Titled Conifera, the work has 700 modular components, each made from a compostable mix of wood and bioplastic in a variety of textures. ‘We’re not obsessed with a uniform finish,’ says the architect, who was commissioned by COS creative director Karin Gustafsson. ‘Karin introduced me to the philosophy of wabi-sabi - the acceptance of imperfection.
