To celebrate the arrival of the Summer working Hours, locals would light up a bonfire on top of which there would be a figure representing winter - now a snowman - with its head filled up with fireworks! When the flames reached the head it would explode and spark into fireworks! The length of time it took to explode also mattered because the local believed it would predict how the next summer would be.
