The view from Nancie’s hilltop bungalow makes it hard to believe you’re only a short drive from San Francisco. The other direction is just as spectacular, with Muir Beach Overlook practically next door. After a strenuous day of hiking Mount Tam—or hanging out and watching the fog evaporate—refuel at the Pelican Inn, a classic English pub that somehow found its way to the California coast.
