They are friends of mine and they did not ask me to share this; in fact they are unaware that I’m sharing this. Over the past decade I have watched Kerry and Tom take in senior and disabled dogs, dogs who are unwanted and often require a lot of medical care. They have done this willingly and selflessly without a single complaint for as long as I’ve known them. A couple of years ago, friends finally convinced them to officially start a non-profit, in which @silverpawshavenandhospice was born. ~ I have watched them lovingly care for blind dogs, deaf dogs, dogs who have lost the ability to use their lower extremities, dogs with cancer. I have watched them shower each dog with love and attention many of them had never received. I have watched them diaper dogs who have lost the ability to control their bowels. I have watched them carry dogs in slings who have lost the ability to walk. I have watched them provide medical treatment - often times extensive medical treatment - to these senior dogs who need it so badly. And I have watched them painfully say goodbye to their dogs, often after only a few months of being in their care. There is a reason why the word “hospice” is in their name. They love their dogs so unconditionally, knowing full well that they will have to say goodbye too soon. 💔 It is truly one of the most selfless acts I have witnessed. ~ This week is their GoFundMe fundraiser.
