A few years ago, just after I went vegan, I read about a study that found the Harry Potter books helped readers to be more compassionate and understanding towards others. It makes sense, since those books at their core, are all about love triumphing over cruelty. So if you cheered when Dobby got his freedom. Or Mrs W. beat Bellatrix. Or when Buckbeak was saved. Or each time Harry stood up to Voldemort. Or at literally anything Newt, Hermione or Hagrid has ever done, you are already vegan at heart, you just haven't put it into practice yet.
