Make sure to head over to @womenshealthmag today here on Instagram. I’ll be taking over their IG stories for the day as of 10am PST! This is in support of the interview I recently did with them about my experience with #PCOS. The link to that article is in my bio!

Thank you for speaking out on PCOS and the lack of attention the medical community gives to us. I’ve been struggling with these symptoms for almost 15 years and doctors would never believe me or take me seriously because I don’t have some of the “main symptoms” like facial hair or acne. The pain is very real though. I finally found a new naturopathic doctor who ordered an ultrasound. I cancelled the appointment because of a conflict and scheduling and almost didn’t reschedule because I really have no hope that anyone will help me. You get to a point of just wanting to give up and just deal with it. However I read this article and it gave me hope again. I called and rescheduled my ultrasound. Thank you.

@laurenelizabethash You are amazing for what you're doing! I've had symptoms of PCOS since puberty, but wasn't actually diagnosed until about 10 years ago when experiencing secondary infertility. The struggle is real. I've got things mostly under control now, but I'm learning to take care of my health and love my body even if I don't necessarily lose the weight. Communication with my doc has been key to get on the right meds to regulate my periods and manage the hormone swings. Thank you for what you're doing. I'm learning that no matter what my body is worthy, it is amazing, and it is beautiful! Keep doing what you're doing!

Thank you so much for this. I stayed crying about halfway through. You've given voice to so much of what it feels like to have PCOS. I've been told the "just diet and exercise" and all that nonsense. And fighting with the fact that my husband and I want to start a family. I've been feeling so overwhelmed and alone lately with this, that it reminds me so many other women out there have it! I'm actually looking into a local support group so I can share my experiences and get other women's takes on it all. Thank you, this means more to me than you'll know. 💜💜💜

Thank you for this. A friend from FB shared this article and it is so great that you are shedding light on PCOS. I have been suffering from PCOS for many years and each year seems to be worse than the last. It's so frustrating that the medical community has very little knowledge or research about PCOS and like you have been told I am basically screwed and to just lose weight. So thank you for coming out with this article and hope we can bring more light to PCOS and maybe one day a cure.

This article, just...THANK YOU. 😭 For bringing awareness to something that is such a life ruiner for so many women.
I’m in the midst of a PCOS-induced flare right now, so seeing all the beautiful faces on IG where image is everything is difficult. It’s hard to feel happy when your face is a mess, your hormones are out of control, and you’re in pain. I personally really needed to see this. ❤

Thank you for doing this! As a fellow cyster, it’s so hard to find someone that identifies and relates with our struggles. Between the constant weight battles, excessive body hair and yet hair loss, mood swings, etc. it’s comforting to know we’re not alone and someone is using their platform to raise awareness about a poorly understood condition. Thank you! 💗
