When people see the justice of an idea, it catches fire very quickly. Five years ago, we were told a $15 minimum wage was “too radical.” But a grassroots movement of workers kept fighting, and we saw cities and states across the country saying loudly and clearly: A job should lift you out of poverty, not keep you in it. Maryland has just become the SIXTH state to complete that revolution, and we’re not done yet. We will pass a national $15 minimum wage.
