I’ve always respected The Clark Sisters to the highest degree but once I had to sing all of their songs as @karenclarksheard I literally kept getting lightheaded. I slept with her in my ears and studied her mannerisms and the script each day and became emotional. It dawned on me, I didn’t truly understand how dynamic my mother is. Every time I sang and portrayed her I felt the power of God, I was free vocally, and I hit notes I didn’t know were inside of me. So let’s just say, I’ll be playing Karen everyday. I auditioned for the role and didn’t think that I was worthy. She is abnormal. Genius. God’s gift. Not to mention my aunt Twinkie’s story. 😩😢 as a female musician, she pushed out hits non stop. Crazy! Grandma’s story too. Their story is amazing. It has changed my life. I’m so grateful that God would allow me to pay tribute to my mother and aunts at this magnitude. I can’t wait for you all to see it. And the cast has become my real sisters, they are simply outstanding!
