Halfway into our drive, we hit a HUGE pothole that ripped open a front tire. We pulled into a gas station and I started feeling defeated. The sun was going down, we only had the one night away together after being apart for weeks and now this flat tire was taking away our quality time. Erica, however, saw the opportunity in front of us. She went inside to find help and a random guy getting coffee in the gas station offered to change our tire. Turns out, there was no spare so we had to get towed. *thanks the AAA gods* While we were waiting, Erica said, “What are we doing? We are at a gas station aka the land of Cheetos! Let’s go get your favorite food!” And in that instant, everything shifted for me. I realized our time together wasn’t being taken from us, it was there, right in front of us. It just looked different than I had planned and Erica saw that from the beginning. We were surrounded by so many complete strangers who wanted to help, from the woman who guided us to the gas station, to the coffee guy, the AAA reps, our tow truck driver and even the people at our b&b once we got there. It was incredible to be embraced so unexpectedly. In the end, our trip was wonderful. I learned that the magic of an experience isn’t found in the perfectly planned picturesque itinerary, it’s found in the small moments of love... which sometimes looks like your girlfriend buying you a bag of hot Cheetos.❤️」3月28日 1時15分
