Yesterday was a good example of why Spearfishing is a lifestyle that makes me respect my food more. All day we had strong current making it hard to breath up (when you freedive, you want to be as calm as possible for your breath hold), there were no fish below 60ft (the red tide made some serious damages to the area last summer), the water was murky and sharks were around lurking for a free meal. When you work hard for your food or/and know where it comes from, you develop an immense respect for it. The bond between conservation and food harvesting/gathering is extremely strong.
This fish was caught in the Bahamas, on a polespear, with the previous help of my dive buddy (Spearfishing is a team sport).
