Pioneering make-up artist @ValGarland revives and reconfigures the prescient vision of extreme beauty she created for Alexander McQueen over 20 years ago. “When I started working with Lee, we used to talk a lot about Artificial Intelligence. He was amazing because he was a forward-thinker, and the type of woman that he wanted me to produce was somebody who was like a super-being. She had super-perfect skin, a little bit plasticised. I used to stretch the girls’ faces so that they became more like AIs and a little bit alien. And this is the way it’s still going in beauty.
