They were the young the old the rich and the poor and they were from every part of Britain. These are the people I love. These were not the liars with their false promises on the side of buses , the fear mongers , the xenophobic bigots and racists , the self aggrandising egotists and career opportunists , the disaster capitalists , the little Englandrers , the bullies who send death threats and who smash the windows of mosques , the ignorant who disregard facts and who peddle falsehoods .
