If you know a Single Mom... chances are, she won’t ask for help. Go over anyway and change her lightbulbs or take out the trash. If you’re a neighbor, pull out her bins before garbage day when you’re pulling out yours. Drop off a casserole once in a while. Invite her kids over to do homework with your kids. Drop off a small mason jar of flowers from your garden. Sweep off her porch once in a while. Wash her car when you’re washing yours. Offer to take her car and fill it up with gas (you don’t have to pay for it- just to not have to stop at the gas station and get her hands dirty will be such a relief). When you’re doing all the things in your life that you do, imagine trying to do all those things with kids who need your attention and no other adult to share responsibilities or joys. Imagine your brightest shining moments going totally unseen. You just have no idea how much considerate little things mean to her.
People tell me all the time that they don’t know how I do it. I don’t know either. It’s by the grace of God. I somehow find hours that didn’t exist before. And I love my life! But spending 20 minutes trying to screw in the obstructed lightbulb in my ceiling fan will exhaust me to tears. If you know a Single Mom, she’s probably not used to people showing up for her. Be one of the people who do ♥️
. (ps- huge shout out of thanks to the people in my circle who show up and keep me afloat. I love you 🙏)

This is so true! I was a young mom my life kind of mimicked your role on OTH lol. I had my daughter in 2004 a month before i turned 18 and 3 months before graduation. I had been with her father since freshman year but we had been friends since we were 9 years old. Unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 21 in 2007 when our daughter was 3 years old. I think that made being a single mom 10xs harder. Thankfully in 2010 i met a wonderful man who went on to love me and my daughter as his own and now we have a son together. My kids are 15 and 7 years old. I am so thankful for my partner. I am sure u are a wonderful mother bc u r beautiful inside and out! Kuddos to u momma❤️❤️

I love this! You are an amazing person! I am a single mom to a 6yr old and (almost) 5yr old. Both boys. It is definitely the hardest thing I’ve done but also the most rewarding. Some people don’t know that some of the littlest things you can do for someone can mean a great deal to them. I have been blessed with some amazing friends and family who have helped me when in need.

Single mums and dads are all amazing, but let's also appreciate married couples with kids. They ve also got a lot to do especially when taking care of husband including children. We shouldn't forget that. I always say big ups for all the mums and dads in this world.

@joylenz Well said! It is so hard to be a single mom- I’ve been doing it for 11 years. And, I don’t think it has gotten easier, I’ve just adapted while still trying to find enough hours in the day. I commend you for all that you do!

Also thank you for putting to words AND making me feel less guilty about why I cannot manage to muster the energy to change light bulbs and when my dad comes to visit 2x per year he has to change like 10 at once😒

Honestly this struck my heart to the core! Thank you for sharing this...I’m a single mama of 4 and I’m so many occasions I cried, because doing the dishes was just to much for me to do. ♥️
