CANT BELIEVE IM ANNOUNCING MY SONG ‘RED RIBBON’ IS COMING OUT MARCH 29th! Almost a year ago I lost my grandma to cancer and because she was so connected to me and my music I couldn’t bring myself to write a song for a long time. I felt a lot of shame around this. “What kind of artist can’t write about their pain?” That was the record spinning on repeat in my head... I wasn’t sure how long my creative spark would be gone for or when it might decide to come back... but in the midst of this horrible block I came across a song I had written a year earlier that changed everything for me. That song is Red Ribbon. It was like the universe knew I would need this song to pull myself out of a very dark place after she passed. This song reminded me so much of her unwavering love. It also reminded me of why I love making music so much... I wrote a song for myself a year before I would need to hear it... anyway the process of putting this song together and the powerful conversations I’ve had surrounding it have completely changed my life...
