jordonkleinert Why is everyone hating on Julio after all he’s done for the Braves. He has a career era of 3.64 and has been one of the most durable pitchers in the majors. Starting at least 30+ games each season since 2013. No he’s not the number 1 ace starter they once thought he would be but he lets up 3-4 runs per 9. If our hyped up offense can’t put up more than that then that’s on them. Also Julio had a problem at Suntrust park giving up home runs but his away numbers are better than his home numbers and I do believe they are playing in Philly. If you are a true Braves fan, then you should believe we start 1-0. Got tired of reading all the negativity and non factual statements.

austin.kieffer If youre going to hate on JT, at least pay attention to the current state of the roster first. Julio’s pitching well this ST; notably his velo (which was the main source of his lack of success last 2 yrs) is back up to 92-93. Folty is hurt. Gaussman is rehabbing, won’t be ready. No one should be lobbying for one of the rooks to take on OD duties. The only other logical answer is Newk...but with the right handed heavy lineup JT makes much more sense (albeit Bryce is in there, i know). JT has done exactly what we have needed him to do during this rebuild - provide a reliable workhorse option to turn to as we groom our SPs of the future. Give the man some respect.

thisisalgenis Gio Gonzalez got a minor league contract for $3M. Too high for Atlanta. They were hoping he’ll play for Free.
