Every time I look into George’s deep brown eyes I’m reminded of his horrible start to life and the consequences he suffers from, to this day, as a result. Metabolic bone disease, juvenile cataracts and several fractures to name a few. He is one of the lucky ones.
Recently the DEA (Department of Environmental Affairs) released its progress report in implementing the recommendations of the colloquium on captive lion breeding. What is astonishing is that out of the 227 lion breeding facilities inspected, 88 were found to be non compliant and many had expired permits or no permits. Unfortunately this is not the worst of it, as it appears as though there really is no appetite for change at this stage. crystalraffone I can't understand it. To not do right by these animals. We have taken so much from them, and yet people still mistreat them. It really is hard for me to wrap my head around it. To hurt something so beautiful? May God have mercy on these animals. And may God have mercy on me if I ever met someone who did such things as cruel as this.

timbissell You can tell that if there isn't anything in it for government, or law makers, they are not interested. There's no interest in it for them. They don't give a dam about wildlife, or earths condition.
