"With constant weather changes around Mt. Cook in Winter, you never know what you are going to get. So, you just go, again and again. Several times I woke up at 3AM, made the drive over to Tasman Lake, then the 30-45 minute trek in the pitch black to find myself all alone at the lake's shore for some night sky and sunrise shooting. Most of the attempts resulted in less than ideal conditions, but this time the clouds held off just enough to allow for the capture of the stars. Stars shine brightly and reflect upon the aqua coloured lake and ice bergs float nearby, eerily crack and make noises in the dark as they melt and flow into the Tasman River on their journey to Lake Pukaki." - @geoffpiperphotography
