From @arnette video “My Way” (1997). It was a weird time to be a pro skater; the best sponsorships you could hope for were for shoes, clothing or sunglasses. The best vert ramps were the ones they built for contests, which would only be up for the duration of the events. Birdhouse was starting to grow enough that we could afford this warehouse for a “company ramp” for @runeglifberg, me and a few others. Skating as a career felt exciting and experimental, but we were all cautiously optimistic in terms of longevity or having a steady income. I was just thankful that @cinemaseoane found the budget to get my favorite Devo song for this video... and for capturing a rare cab to tail.
