I have a challenge for all crossfitters to see if you can run a 400 meter dash faster than 53 seconds at bodyweights over 190 pounds. Here's a 53.44 in the 400 meter dash at 6'0 and 214. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsTvDqwlrGG/ I'll give you a 24 pound weight advantage because most crossfitters are 190 or so. It all goes by bodyweight. This is an unofficial world record for the fastest 400 meter dash ever ran at bodyweights over 210 and heights less than 6'1. Rich Froning has a personal best of 1:00 at 5'11 and 195-202. Vellner has a PR of 1:06. Ben Smith has a PR of 58. It's a bodyweight dependent event. Even a 5 pound increase in bodyweight will slow your time by seconds. The average Olympic mens 400 meter dash bodyweight is 157lbs. The average decathlete is 172-190. Decathlete Trey Hardee is 6'5 and 210. He's basically the heaviest decathlete. But I would have been 245 if I were 6'5. That's why a height factor comes into play in this as well. If you all need info on how to get your 400 meter dash time down then I can provide the exact training leading up to this 53 second 400. It's all within the training. If anyone here wants to become a faster 400 meter runner for crossfit then I can coach you to become faster.
