My friend Matt (@mfj20th) has helped me appreciate the nuances between being a collector, investor and enthusiast. Original is better than Modified, Patina better than Polished and many of these collectables are meant to be used and enjoyed not hidden away. His “one in one out” method of collecting creates a Kondo-like discipline in your life.

Ran into Matt over the weekend putting his theory into practice making a taco run in his 1956 Porsche Speedster wearing the newly acquired Rolex Paul Newman Daytona (2nd photo). When you understand the craftsmanship that went into making these pieces you can better understand the value…also shoutout to El Sombrero and the craftsmanship they put into their tacos, seriously some of the best in the South Bay. #peetscars
