When I was much younger I remember hearing friends talk down about themselves, one gf would always say “ugh I’m so fat I feel disgusting” and she was maybe 2-3 dress sizes smaller than me. It made me then look at myself and think well if she’s saying that then I must really be too big. I wish I knew what I did now and I could have broken the cycle and instead lift her up by encouraging her to see that she’s so much more than a dress size or a number on a scale. As women we have the power to challenge the value system with which we hold ourselves to and each other. So promise me you and your friends will start complimenting more than each other appearance, stop judging others based on the way they look or comparing each other. The beauty is being different and the value we hold is being uniquely us and finding our purpose in this world.
