Happy International Women’s Day! I am incredibly grateful to have grown up in an environment where my success was limited only by my desire to achieve it. I was judged on my abilities and achievements not my gender or physical attractiveness.

Sadly for many women in the world today this is not the reality. If they choose to pursue their passion they are forced to breakdown gender stereotypes and boys clubs. They are taught to look a certain way, act a certain way and quietly accept unacceptable behaviour.
.
And this is just the Western World. In many developing countries women do not have access to equal education or health facilities. They are subjected to horrific acts of violence, genital mutilation and abuse.
.
This International Women’s Day’s theme is Balance for Better. This is not about men vs women; it about a society banding together and fighting for equality. Because one thing is certain; we could do with more unity in this world. So let’s band together and fight for equality. Fight for equality for your mothers, your sisters, your daughters. Fight for a world where everyone’s success is only limited by their desire to achieve it. .
Here is to strong women everywhere. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them. .
