“The Miu Miu girl is aware of the challenges the youth face, and she uses fashion to express her will to fighting through adversity. There was a focus on the cape, a garment that used to be part of the military dress ensemble. The colour palette of khaki, navy and black also adds to the narrative. It suggests protection and power and here, capes came in faux leather, canvas or tweed. A big part of the collection features camouflage looks, and whether one ends up on in a warzone or not, the message is still properly conveyed. Of course, here and there, floral motifs appeared, because beauty can always arise from the darkest times.” Held at the Palais D’lena, the @Miu Miu AW19 show saw a set made with images and projections from photographer, @sharnaosbornes personal archive.
