This short documentary, shot and edited by @joshua_currie is the most authentic window into my songwriting process that has ever been captured on film. Songwriting has brought me so much joy in my life... the therapy of it, the sense of accomplishment, and the way people react to it. But what brings me even more joy than anything is sharing all of that with the love of my life, @Elliott__Taylor. The fact that we can do what we love together takes it to a whole new level. The best way I can describe the feeling is this... When I’m alone and something wonderful happens to me, all I want to do is tell Elliott about it... to try and share the experience with him. But that’s like taking a photo of a sunset... it never does it justice. There’s nothing like actually being there. The wonderful emotions I feel while songwriting, the tiny challenges and wins along the way are impossible to describe. But now, by co-writing with Elliott, we get to share the whole experience with each other, side by side. And truly sharing something I love with the person I love is the biggest win of all. Luckily, our dear friend Josh Currie has an unparalleled talent for capturing a moment, and telling a story on film. This behind the scenes piece he put together brings a viewer just about as close to being there as possible without actually being there. I’m so impressed by his work, and by him as a person. I feel so grateful to have been introduced to him and his beautiful wife @nakieta by Elliott so early in our relationship. You can learn a lot about someone by looking at their friends, and knowing that these two incredibly positive, loving, warm and trustworthy human beings were some of Elliott’s best friends confirmed to me that Elliott must be a pretty darn amazing human being himself. ????
