There is an urgency to spread awareness about the importance of getting your children vaccinated - I’ve learned from @unicefph the alarming rate of the measles outbreak in different communities and causing fatalities to many very young children. The measles vaccine is safe and effective and has successfully been used in the Philippines for over 40 years. Measles can be prevented through vaccinations free of cost in government health centres.

‘Pag di naagapan, pwede ‘tong maging sanhi ng komplikasyon tulad ng diarrhea, middle ear infection, pneumonia, encephalitis (swelling of the brain), malnutrition, pagkabulag, at maaring makamatay.

Hindi sapat ang bilang ng mga nabakunahang bata para maprotektahan ang buong komunidad.

Dahil may outbreak, huwag hintaying lumabas ang mga sintomas bago dalhin sa health center ang ‘yong anak. Kung siya ay 6-59 months old na wala pang bakuna o isang beses pa lang na nabakunahan kontra tigdas, dalhin siya agad sa health center para sa libreng bakuna.

‘Pag ang bata wala pang 6 months old at di pa pwedeng mabakunahan, ilayo siya sa mga taong maaring may sakit. Ipagpatuloy lang ang pagpapasuso para lumakas ang kanyang katawan.
