Lots of first on our latest trip in Vegas. First time I have gotten to surprise my dad, first time he’s flown in over 30 years, first time he’s eaten sushi, first @cirquedusoleil show, first time in a helicopter, first time seeing the grand canyon... the list goes on. I am feeling so grateful (you can see from the smile on my face!) See, families are tricky... my relationship with my dad hasn’t always been easy. He took some left turns and made choices which left him out of my life for awhile.. it was painful and broke my heart. It made me feel abandoned and rejected. But forgiveness and compassion has given us an opportunity to heal! To release the past and just be present now! Not to make up for lost time but treasure the time with each other. Love can heal and our relationship is proof of this. Families aren’t perfect but its in the imperfections we learn to accept and love anyway. #MakingMemories #FamJam
