Sunday afternoons are for resting the heart, journaling extra and reflecting on wisdom that encourages virtue, that pulls up one’s character. I’m sensitive to the things that I feed my eyes and ears. Everything is food in that sense for me. And I care most about the food I choose to allow into my mind, heart and soul. Today’s selection is from Marcus Aurelius:

This spoke to me about how we tend to crave what we don’t have in our possession. This can be material things, places we live or travel, our appearance, and sadly the people around us too. I think if I had a Life Resolution, it would be to appreciate and savor what I do have and be intentional that those very entities never lose their spark, magic and newness because part of that, perhaps a huge part, depends on one’s perspective and choice.
