#tbt Lauryn Hill, American singer, songwriter and rapper, known for being a member of ‪Fugees‬ and for her solo album, The Miseducation of ‪Lauryn Hill‬ 1998, which won many awards and broke several sales records.
It received critical acclaim, showcasing a representation of life and relationships and locating a contemporary voice within the neo soul genre. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and sold approximately 8 million there and she became the first woman ever to be nominated in ten categories walking away with Album of the Year and Best New Artist at the 41st Grammy Awards.

Critics lauded her blend of R&B, doo-wop, hip-hop and reggae genres and it’s honest representation of a woman’s life and relationships.
My personal story with this groundbreaking artist was that she asked if I could create a brown lipstick as it was her color of choice for lipstick. I was deeply honored and created @imancosmetics Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick in Jaguar specifically for her, which she loved and wore it all the time. I thought Jaguar would be a limited edition, but just like ‪Lauryn Hill,‬ it has became a permanent staple of the brand.
