I created a strong winged eye using a deep brown liner; a soft sweep of peach tone across the lid and under the eye to balance the top liner. I created warm depth and contour on the upper, inner and lower eye to balance the deep brown graphic eyeliner.
I was inspired by the "Metropolis"/ Deco design of the gold gown. A graphic eye complimented her beautiful bone structure and almond eyes.
After looking at the dress, I knew I wanted fresh, flawless skin, a soft peachy lip and a bold eye. I built the shape of Jessica's eyeliner by stepping several feet back to see the shape many times. I also asked Jessica and Adir to look at the liner to see if they felt it was even and felt balanced. I used a wash of the blush tone along the upper and lower lash line to balance out the deep brown liner.
While we were getting ready, Jessica, Adir @hairbyadir and I coined the term "modern goddess" to describe her Oscar look.
Jessica and I have been working together for over a decade. She definitely shares her thoughts and knows what she likes. At the end of the day, she trusts me and we work well as a team!
I used a soft golden brown shadow to contour along the bridge of the nose on the inner eye to add definition.
At first Jessica wasn't sure about the boldness of the liner but after looking in a full length mirror with the dress on she could see the balance.
One way I updated the cat eye was to make it softer by using a deep brown instead of a black. The wash of peachy salmon tones, brightens and softens by tying together the look and enhances her natural palette. #makeupbykarayoshimotobua #simplemakeuptricksbykara #makeuptutorial
