This image, from the December 2017 cover of AD, represents one of my favorite shoots yet. The owners of this Brooklyn house are artists @KAWSONE and @juliachiang, who have formed a jaw-dropping art collection, including the @tomoogokita and @george.condo paintings here. KAWS, aka Brian Donnelly, commissioned the Brazilian designers the Campana Brothers (@estudiocampana, image three) to create one of their celebrated stuffed toy chairs using blue plush versions of KAWS’S own famous character BFF. The brothers first created the seating in 2002, and have riffed on the amusing perch for Disney, Fendi, and recently unveiled a limited edition of the KAWS seating with @friedman_benda at @designmiami, last image, where the pieces (now realized in pink and black) sold out in days. The collectible chairs are coveted by tastemakers from designers Francis Sultana and François Catroux (image two, in a house he designed) to musicians Kanye West and Travis Scott, who scooped one up the new KAWS in Miami for his daughter.
