So grateful for @1stphorm level 1 protein bars this week while I’m home recovering from surgery!❤️ . I’ve been reading multiple nutrition blogs on healing from invasive surgery and each and every one lists protein as one of the most imperative things to eat a lot of while your body is repairing tissue and healing. It’s been extra helpful as well to have the convenience of the bars because I’m physically unable to cook or anything just yet! . Each bar contains 20g of protein and only 4g of sugar so they’re such a great source of protein. My appetite has been affected also from the fatigue of recovering so the yummy chocolate candy bar flavor has helped with my appetite and making sure I’m eating enough! . Mentally, I’ve been struggling with the changes to my body even though I know it’s temporary, having my lower abdomen being so bloated from swelling and knowing I’m not strong enough even to do light cardio for two weeks has been challenging, but I’m just grateful this is temporary for me when so many others have to live with conditions that keep them in pain. . Yesterday I was able to walk down the street to get myself a smoothie and even tho it’s a 5 min walk that took me 30 min I felt like I accomplished something just by getting out of the house. The dr said that each day I should be aiming to be a little more active than the day before just to promote circulation and bring back my energy levels. I’m excited to get back to myself and even better than ever, and in the meantime I’m continuing to celebrate the small victories-like being able to wash my hair in the shower today! .
