Hello Friends,
I have decided to retire from competitive skating. While I am excited to begin a new chapter in my life, I can’t leave without trying to express what you and skating have meant to me. For 16 years, I have trained with some of the best coaches and athletes in the sport; I am grateful for their support and encouragement. The parents who work competitions, the announcers who take time away from their professions to lend their skills to us, and all the judges and support staff who encourage us—these are the people it has been my pleasure to know.
Most important, I have met friends who will be with me the rest of my life, if only in spirit. My mentors, coaches, choreographers, talented partners, and special friends have all made me realize how lucky I am to have been a figure skater. I couldn’t have imagined meeting all of you when I first stepped onto the ice in Flagstaff, Arizona, in my purple helmet and knee pads. Memories of all of you will sustain me, no matter what path I take in the future.
I will still be around, through various art projects and at competitions as a coach, and I hope you will keep in touch. Thank you for your love and support.
