My hours are weird and consistently inconsistent. I really don’t have a routine and, yet, I do. Let me explain. I am very strict with my diet and workout regime – partly because being fit is critical to me and because I enjoy it, too. But, with full transparency, these two areas have also caused me huge setbacks mentally and physically. So, now, I choose to incorporate and conquer these areas of my life because they are important to me and my well-being. A fundamental part to my survival and my ability to win every day has been committing to a healthy eating and workout regime. Everything else: my meetings, vocal lessons, songwriting and recording sessions all fluctuate in terms of time and place every day. In fact these meetings take precedent, in some ways, because music and performing is my passion. But, in order to facilitate this passion, I need to be healthy – a hard lesson I learned a few years ago when my music career came to a halt as I underwent vocal cord surgery. Uncertain of who I was without my voice, and through the progression of experiences and challenges I’ve continued to face since, I realized the importance of being healthy, especially healthy-minded. Given my constantly fluctuating professional schedule, my workouts and my eating schedule are constantly shifting. But, they only shift in terms of the hour in the time of day that they happen, because they happen every single day without fail (except for Sundays, typically). Mission critical to achieving my goals and pursuing my passion is my almost maniacal commitment to my health and wellness. This is what ensures for me that I can handle what life serves up and that every day is DAY WON.
