You may know Swizz Beatz as a legendary hip-hop artist and producer. But @スウィズ・ビーツ—aka Kasseem Dean—is also known as one of the most prominent and powerful black art collectors in the country, and the owner of The Dean Collection, among the most consequential collections of American contemporary art. Dean's mission is to both put art by black artists into black collectors' hands—because, as he believes, more work by black artists needs to be owned by black people—and to correct an auction system in which works sell for, sometimes, millions of dollars while the artist himself sees not a cent from the transaction.
