Photo by @MichaelGeorge // Last summer I spent eight full days in Balboa Park in San Diego for @National Geographic Travel to document everything that goes on in that green oasis. Eight days of sunrise & sunset, eight days of talking to strangers, eight days of witnessing bike races & archery & bocce ball. On the seventh day I discovered these twisted trees on a ridge, and I thought they looked like set pieces from Lord of the Rings, or an ancient olive grove. I snapped a few photos and only noticed upon first review the lone figure in the distance, which I think makes this image complete.
