This beautiful baby boy is 6 months old and was born with a cleft lip and a cleft palate. He currently (& luckily) has an artificial palate (that’s what the strings are holding in place) so that he can drink milk. It’s always a blessing to see the kids who are healthy enough to undergo the operations they need. It’s heartbreaking to turn parents and their children away because of malnutrition or even a common cold they picked up trying to get to the hospital. Some journeys take days or even weeks and it’s cold in Northern Thailand this time of year.
This medical mission we had just over 90 patients show up for screening day and about 60 were admitted for surgery. Sixty lives about to change forever and I am so incredibly blessed to be a small part of that.
