#tbt to November when @シーマス・デヴァー and I visited Barcelona and the mega attraction the La Sagrada Familia.

I’d overlooked visiting Barcelona up until this past year because I’d read so much about its issues with over-tourism. There are so many places in the world, I figured we all don’t need to squeeze into just a few like they’re the last elevators available.

At hubs’ request we made the trip in a shoulder season and guess what? I fell in love with the city, damnit.

Popular places are popular for a reason and I don’t think as travelers we can ever be so smug as to believe that at times we aren’t also tourists. Just remember if you plan to visit an extraordinarily popular destination that it is still somebody’s home and be respectful. Also try to choose an off-season for your sake as much as local residents.
