H guys happy Sunday! Legislation to #PutAPriceOnIt has been introduced in several states already, and there is a LOT of support for getting these policies over the finish line so now is a great time to get involved. This week's post comes from Monique Reese, a student at Eastern Washington University. “I grew up in the great Pacific Northwest, so I am used to being surrounded by Evergreen forests, mountains, and the ocean. All of which are truly beautiful environments and are home to an incredible diversity of wildlife. My family loves to go snowboarding in the Cascade Mountains every winter, hike trails and swim on sunny days in the summer, and clamming and oystering during the razor clam season.  But with all of the complications that climate change imposes on the environment, these ecosystems are in danger.

Future generations may not have the same opportunities that we’ve had to explore nature and enjoy breathing clean air.  I have seen more and more of my friends and family members being affected by the pollution in the air. In order to reduce air pollution, we must reduce carbon emissions. If we push for putting a price on carbon emissions, we can encourage a smooth transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.  Doing this will help to ensure the safety of many complex ecosystems, and preserve air quality.  So lets #PutAPriceOnIt and do our part to protect nature. With all it does for us and our animal friends, it's the least we can do.”
