I became a an activist after the #sandyhook shooting, when I realized that I would not be a responsible parent or citizen if I did not do something to prevent #gunviolence. When I joined @everytown I was introduced not only to other amazing activists, but also to a community of survivors who never cease to move me with their stories, their bravery and their astonishing activism in the face of horrific loss. This week is Gun Violence Survivors Week, and #Everytown is launching #MomentsThatSurvive to lift up survivor stories and shine a spotlight on the countless ways gun violence affects the lives of Americans.
