“Year of the Wild Pig 亥年” 2007
Painting the zodiac for New Year greeting has been my ritual since I was a little girl. It’s Japanese / Asian thing.
Looking at my previous Year of The Pig painting with sweet sentiments.
Back then I lived in Hana, the sacred jungle of Maui. These wild boars were living in our land. Actually, in fact, it was two wild NewYorkers living in their land because it was their home land originally.

１２年前の亥年の干支画には甘酸っぱい思い出があります。
２００７年のこの頃、わたしはパートナーとマウイのハナという秘境でジャングル暮らしの冒険をしており、うちの土地には野生のイノシシ一家もおりました。正確に言うと、神聖な彼らの土地に野生のニューヨーカー二人が暮らしてたと言う事だったのでしょう。だってもともとは「彼らの土地」だったのだから。
